Get out of that recliner!

I know the reason people are reluctant to take action. It’s called comfort, safety, security, satisfaction, status quo, negative beliefs, apathy. Whatever you want to call it, it keeps you in a place where you make excuses.

Examples people give for not changing the world:

  • I don’t rock the boat
  • I don’t want to put my name out there; the police/Nazis/establishment/spammers will use it.
  • I don’t want to change my lifestyle; I’m satisfied with how things are.
  • People are stupid/dumb/evil etc. There’s nothing I can do to change the way things are. They just are.
  • I’m just one person. I’m a nobody, a no one. Let others take up the torch.
  • I don’t want it that much. I don’t see the benefit.

Besides all this, I find that people spend way too much time focusing on who they are rather on who they want to become. They fall into the excuses connected to identity:

More excuses based on identity:

  • I’m fat and lazy, and I’m not going to change.
  • I’m too busy, and I don’t have the time to change.
  • I’m poor and don’t have the money to spend.
  • I’ve taken the Myers-Briggs (or other) personality test, and I’m not suited to do what you’re asking.

Let me know when you’re sick and tired of being sick and tired (or busy or poor or whatever), and we’ll talk. You have my email address: lavoce.wap2@gmail.com.
